9 Dropout-entrepreneurs who actullay managed to change the world

How many of us can risk to actually dropout of college/school to pursue our entrepreneurial dreams? You won't live a safe and secure life, you won't get a job etc., is what we know, just because you don't have a college degree! I'm not saying formal education is not necessary but some birds just can't wait to fly high in the sky.

So, here I have complied a list of few dropout-entrepreneurs who actually managed to change the world:

1. Bill Gates 

 


Bill Gates saw an opportunity to start their own computer software company during his college days along with Paul Allen. He dropped out of Harvard to run Microsoft in 1975 and became one of the richest man in the world.  

2. Larry Ellison

 


Other successful people dropped out once and never saw the face of college again but Larry dropped out twice before he actual decided to make it big. He left University of Illinois in his second year then joined University of Chicago and dropped out in his first year. 

3. Steve Jobs

 


The guy who needs no introduction. Steve Jobs was a visionary, inventor and a pioneer of the personal computer revolution in 1970s. He dropped out of college in his first semester itself and attended classes that were of interest to him (like calligraphy). He founded Apple Computers in his garage along with Steve Wozniak.

3. Evan Spiegel

 


This young entrepreneur is the CEO of video sharing application, Snapchat. He left Stanford University shortly before completing his degree. He founded Snapchat in 2011 along with Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown.

4. Jan Koum

 


Jan realized quickly, with the introduction of smart phone apps by iphone, that App industry will play an big role in success in coming times. He is the guy behind instant messaging App, Whatsapp. He dropped out San Jose State University but worked at various places before he actually came up with the idea of Whatsapp. 

5. Michael Dell

 


Dell got interested in making computers and started making them in college. He would sell them to the people he knew in his college. His emphasis was on strong customer support and cheaper prices. He dropped out in his sophomore year to focus full time on his business. 

6. Richard Branson

 


He is the founder of Virgin Group, which has more than 400 companies. He has dyslexia and had poor academic performance as a student. He finally dropped out of high school at the age of 16. 

7. Walt Disney

 


Walt Disney was an entrepreneur, animator, cartoonist and film producer. He is well know was co-founding his company, The Walt Disney Company, along with his brother, Roy O. Disney. He dropped out of high school at the age of 16 but success came to him much later. 

8. Mark Zuckerberg

 


Mark Zuckerberg is well known founding social networking website, Facebook. He became a billionaire at the age of 23 as a result of Facebook's success. Zuckerberg started Facebook as a project and dropped out in his sophomore year to complete his project.  

9. Evan Williams

 


Evan has founded several internet companies and is well known for Blogger and Twitter. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for a year and a half when he left college to pursue his dreams.
